#MeToo is a social movement and awareness campaign against sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and rape culture, in which people publicize their experiences of sexual abuse or sexual harassment. The phrase “Me Too” was initially used in this context on social media in 2006, on Myspace, by sexual assault survivor and activist Tarana Burke. The hashtag #MeToo was used starting in 2017 as a way to draw attention to the magnitude of the problem.

What is the #StandUpToGBV Program?
The #StandUpToGBV program is a movement that is providing a Safe Space and Voice to EMPOWER College Survivors who have been wronged by the failures of Title IX.
In addition, #StandUpToGBV will allow the “Paying Customer (aka Students)” to hold their Colleges and the OCR accountable for NOT bringing proper justice to those perpetrators and assailants who have violated their basic human rights (by afflicting GBV on them)!
The Toxic Culture on most U.S. College Campuses and the Incompetence and Constant Mishandling of cases at the OCR may NEVER be fully resolved, however, the efforts of the #StandUpToGBV movement will assist to:
1. EDUCATE: Students to better understand “What is GBV?” and “How to Prevent and Mitigate GBV on College Campuses.”
2. EMPOWER: Students to Report and Uncover GBV Crimes that are “Swept Under the Rug” by Colleges and the OCR.
3. ELEVATE: The VOICES of all those students impacted by GBV and ALL forms of Discrimination and bring the perpetrators to “REAL” JUSTICE!
Rate My College
As a Program Partner of the #StandUpToGBV program, Rate My College offers College Students the opportunity to Publicize their Experiences of GBV in a Safe Space that is hosted on an Independent, Third-Party Platform which affords them the ability to share with others their side of the story and elevate their voices, without any “Victim Blaming” or Unfair Judgement!
